The Story of Mouchoir :
Sculpting Light in the Heart of France
At Mouchoir, we believe that technology only gains meaning when it touches the soul. Our journey began with a simple yet complex challenge : How can we capture the fleeting, poetic movement of a falling fabric and freeze it into a lasting object ?
After months of experimentation in our studio, refining digital algorithms to mimic the natural folds of silk, the Volute was born. It is the result of a dialogue between the cold precision of a machine and the warm, organic intuition of the designer.
Digital Craftsmanship, Human Touch
We define ourselves as digital artisans. Every lamp is grown layer by layer in our French workshop located in Toulouse. Unlike mass production, 3D printing allows us to produce in small, intentional batches.
This process ensures that every piece is unique, bearing the subtle grain of its creation, a texture that invites you to touch it, just as you would a fine textile.
Ethical & Conscious Creation
Our commitment to the planet is as strong as our commitment to design.
- Bio Sourced Materials: We exclusively use PLA, a sustainable material derived from renewable resources like corn starch.
- Zero Waste Philosophy: 3D printing is additive by nature; we only use the exact amount of material needed for each lamp, eliminating production waste.
- Local Roots: By designing and manufacturing everything in France, we ensure fair working conditions and a drastically reduced carbon footprint.
